Manby Bowdler Shropshire Cricket League - Division Two
Iscoyd & Fenns Bank v Cae Glas
THERE is usually one league disaster lurking furtively for Cae Glas most seasons, and the annual ambush struck with a vengeance in the calm rural surrounds of Iscoyd & Fenns Bank on Saturday.
Put in, the Glas were ripped out for 79 with Nige Evans, with an all-boundary 16, the only player to reach double figures.
Even the redoubtable Stan Fellows, the matchwinner for many a side over the years, failed to inspire his side. If the Glas thought they could draw inspiration from his formidable presence, they were left sadly disillusioned as his all-round comeback was clearly drawn more from optimism than reality.
The visitors’ wickets were shared around the impressive home bowlers and the equally-efficient Fenns openers romped to a ten-wicket victory inside 11 overs.
