Wem TOWN'S mini-run of wins came to an end in the West Midlands Regional League when they lost to a well-organised Wellington on Saturday.

Josh Gough's men were looking to break into the top half with a third win before came unstuck against a side they could have joined on equal points with a win.

Saul Thomas broke the deadlock after 17 minutes and while Wem struggled to find a way back into the game, Wellington could only finish them off in the dying seconds of the game as Matty James slotted home in the 92nd minute.

The defeat leaves Wem in 14th spot on nine points but Gough may be worried that his side have lost five of their eight games so far in the top division.
