Are YOU a youngster in Whitchurch and fancy picking up bat and ball?

Whitchurch Cricket Club, in Heath Road, is offering junior cricket training to young people in the town aged between five and 15.

The coaching started last month and is every Thursday night between 6.30pm and 8pm and will be available throughout the summer.

As well as traditional cricket sessions, the club is also offering hard ball and softball coaching for both boys and girls.

There will be food served after the coaching and parents are encouraged to attend, with the bar at Whitchurch open after the sessions have finished.

The season will end with a junior presentation night and a barbecue on Thursday, September 13.

Junior membership is £40 for 15 weeks or a weekly fee of £4 per session.

If you are interested, or a parent looking for more information, you can contact James Wojda, who is head of junior cricket at the club and also currently plays second team cricket as well.

Whitchurch's senior set-up has three open-age teams, with the first and second XIs playing on Saturdays and the third XI playing on Sunday.
