High-flying Whitchurch look to continue their unbeaten campaign on Saturday when they visit Coalville in the fourth round of RFU Intermediate Cup.
With a place in the regional semi-finals up for grabs, the Midlands Two West (North) pacesetters will be chasing their 11th successive win in all competitions.
It promises to be another tricky trip to Leicestershire, but the Reds can take heart from their spirited 19-16 win at Leek last weekend, in which they overturned a 13-0 interval deficit.
“It’s a massive game for us and we’ll throw the kitchen sink at it,” said coach Scott Sturdy.
“We showed a lot of resilience to win at Leek on Saturday and we’ll need to show that kind of character again.
“We’ve got a strong squad this season, and with the injuries we’ve got we are going to need everyone in the coming weeks.”
Whitchurch’s plans for the weekend have been disrupted with three of their forwards all suffering hand injuries last weekend – second row Matt Owen, No8 and captain Jake Rees and hooker Mike Oakden.
After a bright start to the season, Coalville have lost their last two league games in the Midlands Two East (North), and were well beaten 49-12 away to Ilkeston last weekend.
