SIXTEEN ladies have completed the six-week Tennis Xpress coaching course at The Hollies.

Each one of the ladies said how much they had enjoyed the course and the improvement in their game has encouraged the club to create a ladies’ evening especially for new lady members and non-members.

It gets under way at 7pm on Thursday, August 10 and will continue for the rest of the year.

Another new venture is a family fun afternoon from 4pm on Saturday. Rackets can be provided for visitors to try their skills against the ball machine.

Take your own food along for the barbecue and a drink – no-one is too old or too young to join in.

Club night is on Wednesdays at 7pm.

Most of the league matches have now been completed so members can concentrate on their club championships and the veterans’ tournament.

On Saturday, August 19 the club is hosting the inaugural Steve Egerton Memorial Adult Mixed Doubles Tournament.

Entry is £10 per player and the partnerships will be drawn at random. The money raised will be split between Cancer Research and the club.

Entry forms are available from club members or email mikeshrimplin@hotmail.com
