Carling Cup second round#
Shrewsbury Town 3 - 1 Swansea City
Shrewsbury Town caused the Carling Cup upset of the second round after they took the scalp of Brendan Rodgers' Premier Leaguers, Swansea City.
An own goal from Shane Candsell-Sherrif had gifted the Swans a tenth minute opener when the unfortunate defender headed Andrea Orlandi's cross past helpless Shrews stopper, Ben Smith.
But Marvin Morgan set Town on their way when he levelled the scores 19 minutes into the first half after blasting Lionel Ainsworth's cut-back into the net.
Morgan hit the bar with a header when he climbed above the Swansea defence, just failing to give them the lead at the break, but Mark Wright turned the tie on its head on 67 minutes when he fired home from Terry Gornell's lay off from just inside the box.
And a well worked free kick paved the way for another late Nicky Wroe goal in the first minute of injury time sent a delerious Shrewsbury side through to the third round with the roof threatening to lift off the Greenhous Meadow stadium.
