THE Titans swimming team at Ellesmere College are lengths ahead of the rest of Shropshire when it comes to breaking records after setting more than 190 Long Course Age Group benchmarks.
This figure is higher than the number of records achieved by all of the other clubs in Shropshire put together and after coming out on top of the Amateur Swimming Association's database, Titans' head coach, John Pardoe said: "The Titans programme has never been about quantity but rather the quality of swimmers.
"Considering we only started the programme three years ago this is an incredible achievement," he added.
The ASA rankings database comprises of nearly two million recorded times in the UK since 1997, and the stats show that in some events, such as the 200m backstroke, Titans swimmers have a stranglehold on the county's quickest times, holding 19 of a possible 22 Long Course Age Group records, whilst they can also boast 18 of 22 Individual Medley 200m records.
