Celebrity chef Rosemary Shrager returns to Whitchurch this weekend.

The TV personality is back by popular demand to help launch the fifth Whitchurch Food and Drink Festival which takes place on Saturday and will see the town centre filled to the brim with mouthwatering dishes.

As part of her appearance Rosemary will take part in two demonstrations in the new cookery theatre.

But that's not all.

If you fancy perfecting your baking skills then why not enter your ultimate sponge cake in the Whitchurch Cake-Off competition which will be judged by Rosemary herself.

She said: "I am really looking forward to visiting Whitchurch Food and Drink Festival again, I had such a ball back in 2016.

"It was great to see a small town working together to host a wonderful festival.”

The festival will see a fabulous array of stalls filling the town centre with lots to try and buy from artisan French bread to bathtub gin, and the top of the High Street will be closed off to traffic for the artisan craft market.

Musicians will also be performing throughout the weekend in the outdoor food court with Saturday featuring 52 Blue from 12noon and from 2pm, Alex Dodd. Then on Sunday, Will Skerratt will take to the stage from 12noon, followed by Better Together from 2pm.

And not forgetting the big event this weekend - the Royal Wedding - which will be screened at the festival so you don't have to miss Prince Harry marrying American actress Meghan Markle at Windsor Castle.

So don't miss out on this free family event.

Whitchurch Town Council is supporting Love Your Local Market Fortnight which runs from may 17 to 31 over the festival weekend and showcasing some of the regular traders from Whitchurch's Friday market, which they hope people will continue to support as it takes place every Friday inside and outside the Civic Centre. And not forgetting every purchase in May will include a free branded tote bag.
