The FIRST Whitchurch Local Joint Committee meeting is set to take place on February 21 in what is a busy agenda.

The meeting, usually rotated around a number of venues, is back at the town's Civic Centre, with doors opening at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.

The half-hour period at the start of the meeting is designed for attendees to have an informal chat with committee members as well as attending councillors.

The agenda includes updates from Partners and Communities Together (PACT), which comprises of police, fire and ambulance services.

A representative from the area's local policing team will be in attendance to provide an update at the meeting on recent incidents or local crime trends.

There will also be a representative from the ambulance service who will be available to answer questions relating to recent incidents or developments.

There will be an update from Shropshire Council, with an update on a consultation process for an early help delivery model, which is open until March 6.

Similarly, there will be an update on an online consultation for a pharmacy needs assessment.

Whitchurch Town Council deputy mayor Councillor Bev Duffy will be sharing the work that the town council have been doing on this subject as well as any updates from their day-to-day work.

Meanwhile, the chair of the Whitchurch Chamber of Trade will update attendees on their role and how this fits in with the LJC's strategy.

Shropshire Council officers will be attending to give a talk and facilitate a workshop about the Whitchurch Economic Growth Strategy. This will be delivered as a hands-on activity to share ideas and visions.

After that, there will be time for public questions about a variety of issues, many of which will form the agenda for the next LJC meeting in Ash Village Hall on June 6.
