There have been a number of incidents of serious anti-social behaviour in various locations across the village.

A number of thefts have been reported, particularly around the Wigland area.

It is believed that a number of incidents have occurred in the early hours of the morning with farm equipment, quad bikes and heating oil being stolen.

The police are urging people to report all matters of concern and any suspicious activity directly to them, by calling 101.

It was confirmed at the parish council meeting they will write to all agencies working with young people in the village, highlighting concerns and urging them to work together to address matters as a priority.

The parish council was pleased with the interest from a number-of-people in becoming a co-opted. Richard Charlton has now been co-opted.

Also highlighted at the recent meeting was the number of complaints that have been received about the Bovis homes site. A meeting with Bovis and CWaC will be arranged as soon as possible.

Nicki Rose from Cheshire West and Chester attended the April meeting and outlined the proposed changes. The Public Space and Protection Order consultation closes on April 28 with decisions to be made by CWaC later in the year.

The council continues to receive many complaints about speeding drivers and inconsiderate and dangerous parking.

The parking around both schools, on Tilston Road and a number of other places continues to have a detrimental impact for local residents.

When people park obscuring ‘lines of sight’, hazards are created. The police will actively address concerns and prosecute where appropriate.

A lot of work is underway to improve the look of the village as part of the 20:20 project.

A tidy-up is to be arranged and all are asked to keep the village tidy. Malpas has entered the Best Kept Village competition, so please do your bit.

The next meeting of the parish council is on May 14 and will include the annual general meeting, to include feedback The AGM will commence at 6pm.
