A couple from Penley who were targeted by rogue traders have finally had their work completed after another firm stepped in.

Paul Jones at Fairmitre Windows, based in West Felton, got in touch with Tom and Anna Gill after their story went viral on Facebook in January.

He also saw the subsequent story in the Oswestry Advertizer.

The couple had paid a deposit of £4,500 for new windows and a revamp of their conservatory to Rae Valley Windows and Doors Ltd in March 2016, but the work was never undertaken.

Their plight also went viral after their shared their story on social media.

Fortunately, Mr Jones' company stepped in and the work was completed just in time for the recent cold snap.

Mrs Gill said: "They got in touch after seeing our story in the paper and the work has already been completed - it's absolutely amazing.

"They were fantastic and we couldn't have asked for a better company.

"We are so grateful to them."

Mr Jones added: "When I heard what had happened I immediately want to help. I got in touch with Tom and Anna, and met with them for a chat about what had happened and how we could help.

"If anyone could help them it was someone in the industry and I just wanted to prove that not all companies are the same, there are some companies out there in our industry who are loyal and have a history of doing right by their customers."
