The star bakers and all the budding Mary Berry's were out in force in Malpas over the weekend.
The Great Malpas Bake Off was held at the High Street Church on Saturday with all the proceeds going towards funding the village fair in the summer.
The judging panel of Mary Davies, Anne Done and Marion Randles had their work cut out in trying to pick clear winners with a high standard of entry for the competition which was organised by Beverley Dobson.
Cakes included a chocolate cake decorated with lime green clovers in honour of St Patrick's Day, as the bake-off was held on March 17.
A few contestants went with a 'Paddy's Day' theme with some baking cakes in the shape of a three-lead clover, while one competitor 'pulled' off an excellent representation of the nectar of Ireland – Guinness.
nSee next week's Herald for the overall amount raised for the Malpas Bake Off and for more reaction on the Malpas page.
