It was certainly a ‘patch’ made in heaven when the talented members of Malpas Fabric Arts Group took a short trip down the road to Whitchurch at the weekend.
The bi-annual exhibition was held outside Malpas for the very first time, bringing a colourful eye-catching display of quilted textiles to the Civic Centre over two days.
It also included a sales table, tombola, demonstrations, trader stall and refreshments, and not forgetting the entry fee guaranteed a chance in the raffle.
Lesley Smith, from the group, said although the snow may have put some people off on the Saturday, it was still well attended, adding: “It went very well and we were very pleased.
“Everybody thought it was a good move to go to Whitchurch and it was also the first time we held it over two days because it was too big to take down after one.
“We also had lots of local support, numbers were up which was great.”
The group focuses on patchwork and quilting and has a varied programme, meeting on Mondays from 7-9pm at High Street Church.
