Malpas will once again rock to the sound of the 80s as Rock on the Rec returns this summer.

Now in its second year, Rock on the Rec - jointly organised by the Village Fair Committee and Wolfwind Creative - promises to be better than ever.

Harrison Breeze, Rock on the Rec producer said: "This year we're going bigger and better. Two main acts instead of one, better lighting and effects, and hopefully an even better atmosphere than last year.

"Last year was a test run, and we loved every minute of it, Malpas has such a community feel about it, and was lovely to see so many faces I knew in the crowd, dancing and singing to Waterloo.

"We've got our fingers crossed for the weather, but we have various canvas covered areas of it does rain, and actually it rained last year but it stopped no-one."

The event will feature two musical acts. Miss Madonna, who is the UK's number one Madonna tribute act and Rock of Eighties, who play the biggest hits of the era. Rock of Eighties will also play a Queen tribute, dedicated to their famous Live Aid performance.

Rock on the Rec will take place on July 14 from 7pm until 10.30pm. Tickets are £14 for adults, £10 for children and £5 for children under eight. For more information head to rockontherec.wolfwindcreative.uk/
