There was plenty happening in Whitchurch and beyond in the last week.

Charlotte Hand, who hit the headlines with a letter to Prime Minister Teresa May and then received a reply, has ;picked up her quill again to pen a post-Christmas message asking about the PM and the Number 10 cat Palmerston. The Bronington Year 2 pupils says he might write to the Queen next.

Meanwhile, pupils at Shocklach Oviatt Primary School have enjoyed a musical time-out from lessons as tutor Chris Gilbert came in to teach them the guitar for an upcoming concert. They have also been showing they're a dab hand with a paint brush to bring out their arty side, encouraging them to paint landscapes and buildings.

Shropshire Rural Communities Charity, an independent group established more than 50 years ago, held an information and advice day at at Whitchurch Civic Centre last week. there was plenty on offer for people to enjoy, including cake, tea, coffee and other refreshments while Rural Development Officer Clive Leworthy was on hand to offer advice on issues such as energy saving and living in a rural area.
