Whitchurch town mayor Councillor Tony Neville was the guest of honour in a successful day of fundraising for Clifford's House in the High Street.

A number of guests joined Cllr Neville and his wife Pat last Friday for the coffee morning, which raised £322.47 for the voluntary-run local mental health and well-being signposting information hub.

They both supported the day which comprised of various stalls including a coffee morning with drinks and biscuits, cake sales and a raffle, along with a teddy tombola held at the Market Hall in the Civic Centre.

All funds raised will go towards the upkeep of the centre which provides information and advice on various matters including mental health, suicide awareness, art therapy and homelessness.

Centre Manager and volunteer Simon Tooth said: "We have been overwhelmed by the support the local community have given us today and we hope to run a variety of other fundraising events in the future."
