Farmers who have registered to take part in Open farm Sunday are being urged to order their official resource pack from the National Farmers Union.

LEAF Open Farm Sunday will be taking place on June 10 this year and will see hundreds of farms all over the country will open their gates to the general public.

As the farming industry’s annual open day, it offers a fantastic chance for people to discover real farming at first hand and see for themselves how their food (and much more besides) is produced.

It is also a great way for farmers to shine a light on what they deliver and why supporting British farming matters.

Tow farms in and round north Shropshire have registered to take part in Open farm Sunday, including Winston farm in Tetchill, just outside Ellesmere, plus Home Farm, which is in Wrexham Road Overton, in between Wrexham and Whitchurch.

Winston farm will be open from 11am until 3.30pm while Home Farm will be open from 10am until 4pm.

Walford Farm at North Shropshire College is also opening to the public on the day, in Baschurch, between Oswestry and Shrewsbury.

All farms will be offering a variety of activities for anyone wishing to visit them, including animal activities, refreshments and machinery displays.

However, anyone wishing to travel further afield for an Open Farm Sunday experience can head to farmsunday.org/visit-a-farm for a map with locations.
