Members of a village planning group are looking for great war family memories, photos and objects to add to a upcoming exhibition.

Welshampton and Lyneal Parish Council is planning a weekend of events this November to commemorate the end of the First World War, and the 35 people of Welshampton, Colemere and Lyneal who never returned.

As well as church services on Sunday November 11, an exhibition of material based on the lives of the 35 will be open to all on Saturday November 10 from 11am to 4pm at Welshampton Parish Hall.

Organisers are keen to hear from anyone who may have relevant local family memories, letters or other objects which they can lend for display and would also welcome offers of help from anyone with an interest in local history, family research or exhibition organisation. In addition, there are opportunities to be involved in a programme of poetry, readings and song to accompany the exhibition.

Names of the fallen from the villages can be found through this website www.shropshireremembers.org.uk/further-research/roll-of-honour/
