Whitchurch CE Infant and Nursery School is celebrating following news they have received a ‘good’ Ofsted inspection.

The news came last month that the Station Road school had received the rating, with the inspector commenting that ‘the leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school’.

It also said that under this leadership ‘there is an ambitious vision, along with team spirit and a committed drive for continual improvement’.

Sarah Cope, headteacher at the school, was delighted with how the report went.

“This fantastic outcome reflects the dedication of the team who support our children and give them the opportunity to flourish,” she said.

“We are very proud of our achievement and are looking forward to future successes.”

She added: “The school will not be resting on their laurels, there is still progress to be made to ensure the best start for the children of Whitchurch continues to improve.

“Staff are delighted with the outcome and the recognition of the hard work needed to achieve this.

“Ensuring that children that attend the school are safe, happy and receive a good standard of education is the key driver for all decisions made.”

The inspector also commented that ‘leaders have successfully created a safe, caring environment where pupils settle quickly to work and engage eagerly with the tasks set for them’.
