A Whitchurch man was due to appear in court today after he was charged with robbery and possessing a knife in the town.
Angus Ryan, 50, from Green End in Whitchurch, was charged yesterday with robbery and possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.
The charge follows an investigation into an incident at a commercial property – which police in the town confirmed to be a bookshop – and is alleged to have produced a knife and emptied the till of cash.
