Accident on A541 Mold to Denbigh road

A MOTORIST has been taken to hospital following a single-vehicle collision on the A541 near Mold this morning.

A spokesman for North Wales Police said the silver Vauxhall Omega skidded off the road at the junction of Black Brook shortly after 5.30am this morning.

The male driver was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital by ambulance.

A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said the man was believed to have fallen ill at the wheel.

Road diversions are in place and the road is expected to remain closed until mid-morning.
