IT WAS YO HO HO and a pint of beer for a Whitchurch business after it was officially opened by the town’s pirate last weekend.

The Crafty Dragon micro pub, in Mill Street, Whitchurch, was officially opened by the town pirate Guy Hepworth on Saturday, February 24.

The bar serves craft beer and cask ale from the Magic Dragon Brewing company which has its brewery at The Plassey just outside of Wrexham.

OTHER NEWS:

Liz and Richard Lever, along with local tradespeople and their new staff, worked hard over a few months to get the bar open.

Liz said she was delighted with how the opening day went after months of hard work and convincing planners to approve the business.

She said: “We’re really pleased with how the micropub looks, it has created a really cosy, warm environment where people can enjoy a drink and meet with friends.

“We would also like to thank everyone for their support throughout the project and to all the people who have joined us at the opening.”

The micropubs day to day running will be managed by Jon Gudgion and his team of staff, and he added that he was looking forward to the future.

“I’m really looking forward to the new challenge and can’t wait to see it become a community asset as well as a place to get a great pint of beer,” he said.

There are a few guest beers as well, along with small selection of cider, wine and spirits available at the bar.

Liz added: “On Saturday, the pub was full of people having a look at the new space, enjoying a pint and listening to the town pirate singing a few sea shanties.”

The micro is dog friendly and not far from Jubilee Park for a walk.

It opens 12pm to 10.30pm every day.
