A WHITCHURCH estate agents which recently bought a unit in the town’s High Street, is set to expand with a hot drinks takeaway bar, subject to approval from Shropshire Council.

Get Moving Estate Agents has bought 29 High Street and applied for permission to renovate it from one large commercial unit into a smaller commercial unit.

The plans will also see a three-bedroom flat built above the premises, and a one-bedroom flat to the rear which will be completed in January.

With that they also acquired a “shed thing”, which they want to transform in a Hot Drinks/Ice Cream takeaway bar, if approved by the planning committee.

A spokesperson from the agency said: “We have been scratching our head on what to do with the “shed thing” to the right as you look at our shop and we jokingly said to a few people about the idea and then after such positive feedback, it became an idea we wanted to pursue.

"It will bring employment to the area and after we have refurbed it, the appearance will be so much better.

 “It will not be huge, certainly not big enough to sit, unless you want to sit on the counter.

“But in all seriousness we plan to have two serving hatches (in case of busy days) and although to be confirmed, we anticipate to be selling coffee/hot chocolate all year round and in the summer months also sell ice creams."
