Malpas Rotary is set to host a Christmas car boot sale in the village this Sunday in aid of local chairities.

The event is set to take place Sunday November 26 between 10am and 4pm and entry for the public will be free.

The stalls will be set up on the car park of The Lion at Malpas, a central point of the village, after its operator Bear Inns allowed the free use of the space for the charity event.

OTHER NEWS:

Part of the money raised will go towards several selected charities as well as local causes supported by Malpas Rotary.

Doreen Merchant-Stubbs, of Malpas Rotary added: “We’re very grateful to The Lion for the use of the car park and look forward to a busy weekend of car booting with the Malpas community.

“A good chance to do your Christmas shopping.”

The Lion and Bear Inns team have chosen to support Malpas Young Persons Project and MIND, the mental health charity.

Many stalls have already been allocated, but there are still some spots remaining for those looking to sell their wares in the village.

Due to limited space, only cars can book – and the cost is £10 per pitch.

Those interested in taking part in the charity car boot should call Doreen on 07581 035 234.

The Christmas charity car boot should come as a welcome addition to the annual Malpas Christmas Market and will give residents the perfect excuse to keep the festivities going through November and into December.

The total amount of money raised at the car boot sale will be announced by Malpas Rotary and The Lion shortly after the event.

Bethan Rose-Bailey, General Manager of The Lion at Malpas said: “We’re always happy to support the village and offer up the space that we have here to do so.

“Even better that we’ve been able to support some charities this time, it’s lovely so close to Christmas.
