TWO men in Whitchurch have been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs agfter a raid by West Mercia Police on Thursday morning.
The town men, aged 25 and 39, were also arrested for the possession of a prohibited weapon – what appears to be a large rifle – in a private property after the flat above 22 High Street was raided.
Officers from North Shropshire Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) announced the successful arrests on social media.
They said: “We carried out a warrant in Whitchurch where two men were arrested for drug related offences.
“The warrant was carried out on a property on the High Street following intel we received concerns about drug supply in the area.
“Officers seized a large quantity of drugs, cash and a number of weapons.

“The two men, aged 25 & 39, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A, possession with intent to supply class B drugs and possession of a prohibited weapon in a private property.

Eyewitnesses told The Whitchurch Herald that officers in plain clothes and unmarked car approached the property at around 10.15am before smashing the door in with a battering ram.
Officers were then seen taking in crime scene investigation equipment into the property.
