A Cheshire-based family-friendly festival has been recognised at the UK Festival Awards 2023.

Returning for its 18th year, the prestigious ceremony is the UK’s only fully festival-focused awards, hosted at Manchester’s well-known entertainment venue Escape to Freight Island.

Deva Fest, based at Cholmondeley Castle, was nominated in the following categories, the ‘Best Small Festival’ and the ‘Best Family Festival’.

Phil Marston, founder of Deva Fest, said the award nomination reflects the ideology behind setting the festival up.

He said: “We created Deva Fest with family at the forefront.

“It was important we created a space that was accessible to all, from the music to the entertainment and the facilities, we wanted everyone to enjoy a true authentic festival experience.

“We’re incredibly grateful to our Deva fans who continue to support us, and we’re continuing to evolve our festival to raise the bar year on year and meet the needs of our guests.

“It would be a real honour to win an award at the coveted UK Festival Awards.

“To be recognised as the best family festival, or the best small festival, would be a huge triumph and we need the help of our fans now more than ever to make the shortlist.”

The shortlist of these awards is decided by online fan votes, and these are then weighted according to audience size.

Now moving into its fourth year, Deva Fest celebrated a successful event this summer, with more than 15,000 tickets sold, and Saturday guests exceeding expectations at 6,000 attendees.

Next year will see the return of the much-loved variation of music, comedy and entertainment, with new surprises in the pipeline, as well as a brand-new campsite to accommodate more weekend camping guests.
