A HARVEST group of differing clubs and societies is holding a produce event at Wem Town Hall and Jubilee Square next weekend.
Wem Combine Harvesters will be holding its annual Wem Harvest Market on Saturday, September 30 and will be open from 9am to 1pm and will be its 26th event overall.
The Harvesters is an umbrella group consisting of Wem Civic Society, Wem & District Garden Club, and Incredible Edible in Wem.
Shelagh Richardson, from the Group, said: “A wide range of goods and produce will be available including food, drink, crafts and plants.

“There will be baked goods from Powell’s Pork Pies, Rainbows & Apron Strings; cheese from Cheese Wedge and La Triestina, also Italian Delicatessen.
“For those looking for indulgence, there is Welsh fudge from Little Fudge Box while hot doughnuts will be available on the Jubilee Square.
“Those looking to get their garden ready for the autumn will see a wide range of plants on offer from Buzzy Bee.
“Incredible Edible will be on their allotment (Jubilee Square) along with the Master Composters (Garden Organic); Wem and District Garden Club will be offering produce and advice in Wem Town Hall.
“Craft stalls, (woodcrafts, fabric crafts, greetings cards, soaps) will be on all sites – traders will include SilknStuff, Bears can Craft, Made in Wem, Joolies Glassware, and more.
“Shropshire Wildlife Trust, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, and Guide Dogs for the Blind will be there to talk about their work.
“Wem Civic Society will be in Wem Town Hall with local history information and there will be publications for sale alongside Fingal’s preserves.”
Shoppers will be serenaded by a quartet of musicians from Wem Jubilee Band on the Jubilee Square between 10am and 12 noon.
Guidance for shoppers will be offered by ‘A Lady from Wales’ and a ‘Victorian Gentleman.
