CELEBRATIONS of more than three centuries of bowling in Ellesmere saw plenty of guests enjoy a day of fun last week.

Guests were allowed onto the ‘top green’ at Ellesmere Bowling Club for a day of picnics and entertainment to celebrate the club and also look to raise funds for new facilities.

A spokesman for the club thanked all who came and praised the day.

They said: “Despite the weather on the previous Saturday, the celebration on Sunday, August 6 was wonderfully clear and bright for Ellesmere Bowling Club to celebrate 325 years of bowling in Ellesmere with its garden party on the top green.
