A MALPAS pub will be putting on a festival as part of the village’s annual fair this month, with residents urged to take part.

The Lion at Malpas, in the High Street, has announced the Maludi festival, an add on to the annual Malpas Village Fair, featuring Malpas Showcase Day organised by the parish council.

The event will span three days and will feature a unique combination of village festivities and The Lion's own events from tug-of-war competitions, to live music acts, delicious BBQs, and an outdoor Moretti and gin and tonic bar.

A spokesman for the pub said: “The festivities kick off on Friday, July 14, where tug-of-war patrons will be invited to The Lion for team registration to receive their t-shirts and take team photos.

“Adding to the excitement will be live music throughout the evening, creating a lively atmosphere for all participants and spectators alike.
