A MAJOR Whitchurch auction house has hailed its monthly auction as it welcomed the popular BBC daytime show, Bargain Hunts.

Trevanion Auctioneers, owned by TV star Christina Trevanion, welcomed the BBC show to its premises in Station Road on Wednesday, February 15.

The show was hosted by antiques TV legend Eric Knowles while teams were guided by fellow experts, Philip Serrell and Katie Bliss and the auctioneers' associate director, Ashley Jones was auctioneer of the day.

Ashley said: "It was great to have the crew and contestants from Bargain Hunt join us for our auction.

"It was a busy day and fun to see the reactions of the teams as they experienced the thrills and spills of the auction room."

Whitchurch Herald:

Managing partner Christina was pleased with how the day went and was delighted to welcome the BBC team.

She said: "It was very exciting to welcome Bargain Hunt blue and red teams along with Eric, Philip and Kate.

"It was very strange not to be in front of the camera.

"But, I was really delighted Ashley Jones led the proceedings in the auction and very competently, as I knew he would.

"He is a budding star in the making."

Whitchurch Herald:

The auctioneers was open to the public from 9am and Christina was impressed with the turnout.

She said: "It was packed.

"It was lovely to have so many familiar faces and also welcoming new customers into our sale room as well.

"And especially after our refurbishment that we did in 2021.

"We had a complete refurbishment.

"It was lovely people saw all our hard work.

"People came to buy items and see the program being filmed as well."

Trevanion Auctioneers will be holding its next auction on Wednesday, March 22 and entries are being accepted until Friday, March 3.

Christina confirmed many people have registered their interest for the next one.

She said: "We already have a big auction planned for our March one.

"People have already consigned many items for that auction, including a very lovely collection of silver and casterly porcelin.

"It is already shaping up to be a typically busy March auction."
