THE first training school in Shropshire to offer a Level 4 diploma in Holistic Massage launches in Whitchurch this month.

Jenny Hampton Massage has traded in Whitchurch for the last four years and is based in St John’s Street in the town centre and owner Jenny will be launching the training arm of her business with a special course next week.

The 10-month diploma course will have an introduction session on Saturday, November 19 and Sunday, November 20 with a taster and the full programme starts in February 2023.

Jenny says that while the Level 4 training has a strong scientific element that includes anatomy and physiology study, at its core it’s about learning how to massage intuitively, with a focus on meditation.

Jenny, who will be serving as principal tutor, said: “When I learnt massage what I loved was how much meditation and intuition were a part of the course.

"For me, massage is a moving meditation, a way to rest in stillness and relaxation, while offering wellbeing to another.

“It’s been a life-changing journey for me becoming a massage therapist and now tutor, and I can’t wait to share what I’ve learnt with others.”

The diploma is accredited by the Massage Training Institute (MTI), a professional association established in 1988, which accredits and represents holistic massage therapists.

MTI director Ros Cope sayid they were looking forward to welcoming Jenny into their approved team of tutors.

Jenny is a massage therapist and tutor with 12 years experience, and trained at the highly regarded Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork in 2010 and has been in private practise ever since.

She completed a Level 4 teacher training programme in June 2022.
