West Mercia Police appealing for information after spate of crimes around area

A CLOTHING store staff room in Whitchurch was broken into. 

Police are appealing for information after the break-in at the staff room at the store in Green End between midday and 1.30pm on Saturday, June 10.

A door was damaged and forced open, but no thefts were reported (0415s 110617).

Just before 3am on Wednesday, June 14, alarms were activated at a retail outlet in Green End. Again a door was damaged and forced open, but nothing appeared to be stolen (0030s 140617).

Police are also investigating the theft of a black VW Polo which was taken from a car parking area in Shrewsbury Street, Prees, between 7.30pm on Saturday, June 10 and 4.50pm the following day. The vehicle was found broken down beside the A41 near Tern Hill at 7.30pm on Sunday, June 11 (0508s 110617).

And a Garmin sat-nav and a Stanley socket set were taken from a van in Chapel Street, Wem, between 9am and 3pm on Friday, June 9 (0804s 090617).

Police are also investigating a series of burglaries after a surf board, a racing bike and a mountain bike were stolen from a garden shed in Ellesmere Road, Wem, between Saturday, June 3 and Saturday, June 10 (0168s 100617), while a 40-volt cordless chainsaw and two axes were among items taken from two garden sheds at a neighbouring property. They were reported missing on Saturday, June 11 (0380s 110617).

And between 11am and 1pm on Thursday, June 8, a house near Brown Moss in Ash Road, Whitchurch, was broken into. A door and a window were damaged, and cash and jewellery were stolen (0337s 080617).
