YOUNG footballers in Prees had the experience of a lifetime when they were coached by none other than England star Jill Scott.
The midfielder, who plays for Manchester City Women, hosted one her soccer school sessions at Prees Junior Football Club on Thursday, which proved popular with girls from Prees and other clubs in the county, including Whitchurch Alport.
Kris Morris, secretary of Prees Junior FC, said: “It was brilliant. The girls loved it.”
The sessions included fitness, skills training and matches, with Scott giving pointers and tips on what players could improve on.
She also had lunch with the youngsters, took part in a question-and-answer session, and gave signed Manchester City and England shirts.
Kris continued: “She was really down to earth, really nice. She talked to parents and some of the people from the village who came along.
“She was happy to speak to everyone – she made time for everyone. And she also wants to come back!”
Scott is one of just 10 players to have 100 England caps and has a string of awards.
