SUE WALKER from Whitchurch has been crowned as Miss Slinky 2016 by her fellow Slimming World members after losing three stone in weight.

Sue decided to join Slimming World in March 2016 after returning from a holiday.

“Having seen some photographs of myself I decided I needed to do something urgently about my weight,” she said.

“I reached out for help on social network and was put in contact with Tina Hayward of Slimming World.

Before and after: Sue Walker has lost three stone in weight

“I explained my concerns about attending the group and my anxiety about bringing my daughter along with me as a single parent.

“I was reassured and told my daughter was also welcome and I was at the group within a week of returning from my holiday.

“Going to a group meeting has meant I have managed to stick to the plan owing to the huge levels of support on offer.

“My favourite meal on Slimming World is homemade beef burgers, topped with cheese and served with homemade Cajun wedges and coleslaw.

“I also really enjoy a Sunday roast tweaked to the Slimming World rules by using frylight, and love having a jacket potato at lunch time.

“Being a busy working single mum, time is always of the essence. Therefore my three-year-old daughter also eats Slimming World meals – she is really enjoying the huge level of variety in food I am now offering.

“Attending Slimming World for me feels like a hobby now and I really enjoy the social side by going to group every week – that's why I've continued to attend while being a target member. The biggest achievement is now being to take part, and enjoy, a wide variety of exercise!

“When I joined Slimming World in March, 2016 I was wearing a size 16/18, and in December, 2016 I bought a pair of Christmas pyjamas in a size 8/10.

“I know I can now confidently go shopping and buy 10/12 tops and trousers and know they will fit.

“In total I have lost three stone and reached my target weight in October 2016. By losing this weight I have not only improved my physical health but how I feel mentally.

“I am a brand new person who's now fit and healthy and most importantly a better Mum to my daughter.

Tina Hayward, who runs the Wem and Whitchurch groups says: “I’m so proud of Sue and the inspirational way in which shes maintained her weight loss. It’s always great for new members to meet Sue and see just what’s possible.”
