ELLESMERE Rangers have been knocked out of the FA Cup at the extra preliminary round after suffering an 11-0 defeat against Coleshill Town. Played at Tamworth FC’s Lamb Ground, the game saw a young Meresiders team annihilated by the side from the Midland Football League’s Premier Division. First half goals from Luke Edwards,Tom Weale, Demetrius Smikle and four from Luke Barlone gave Coleshill a commanding 7-0 lead at the break. Substitute Simeon Cobourne added two second half goals, Smikle added a tenth before Dean Rathbone struck an eleventh to complete the rout. Thankfully for Rangers fans their club performed much better in their West Midlands League Premier Division match last Tuesday night, beating Stone Old Alleynian 5-0 at home. Goals were scored by George Carpenter, Judd Ellis, William Twyford (2) and Matthew Ryan. With two games played, Rangers now occupy tenth position.
