RESIDENTS in Prees Heath will be able to buy homes at a 20 per cent discount as part a new development.

Brushwood Gardens is being launched by Gleeson Homes at their new site and they plan to provide affordable and quality homes in the area.

Work on the development is set to begin in early March and the show homes are expected to open in June. The first homeowners are intended to move in for the summer.

Gleeson say it will be a fantastic opportunity for local people to get an affordable home and will be providing employment opportunities with young people being offered apprenticeships at the company.

Operations director at Gleeson, Stephen Crosgrove said: "We are delighted to be bringing our affordable, quality homes to Shropshire.

"As this is our first development in the area, we expect there will be exceptional demand for our homes.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for any local residents and workers to secure a quality new home with a generous 20 per cent discount.

"We are pleased to be supporting the local area by donating towards educations, as well as supporting the community by employing a workforce made up of local labour and contractors.

"Gleeson build homes that are genuinely affordable, providing customers with the opportunity for wealth creation through home ownership.

"Four out of five of Gleeson’s customers are first-time buyers, with three out of four of its customers being under the age of 35."

As part of the planning process, Gleeson contributed £296,962 to support infrastructure of the local community, £120,666 towards education and schools and £3,500 to Prees Heath Common Butterfly Reserve.

Gleeson is currently in the planning process for a second development in Whitchurch.
