THREE PLAYS

Enjoy a First World War atmospheric evening with Whitchuch Little Theatre when they put on three short plays to commemorate the Centenary of the Armistice.

The evening begins with ‘Keeping Up Appearances’ by Elizabeth Bell. It takes us back in time to the war and also the beginnings of the Suffragette movement. A lovely sensitive play with a twist, the cast of Nigel Davies, Karin Goddard, Vicky Chisholm, Debbie Alexander, Katie Goddard and Dawn Darlington are directed by Guy Jones.

This is followed by ‘Over The Top’ by Geoff Parker when we see two soldiers in the trenches waiting for their order to go ‘over the top’. Alan Scutt and Koebe Matthews, making his debut for the group, play an experienced and inexperienced soldier.

‘After The Ball Is Over’ written by Lynn Brittney, is next At the first ball in 1914 at the country residence of Sir Edwin (Michael Matthews) and Lady Marjorie (Therese Hickland) the guests have no idea of how devastating this world conflict will become.
