The FAMILY of a man given end of life care by Edgeley House Nursing Home have presented a new bench and £250 from his funeral last month.

Graham Welch was diagnosed with terminal cancer in May this year, and was sent to Edgeley House for palliative care for his illness.

Brother Mike said his brother insistent the home get the donations, adding: "It was supposed to be for only a matter of days but he astounded us all by staying there for more than three months.

"Graham was looked after so well there that he wanted to give the staff something in return for his outstanding care he received while there. So all donations from the funeral were for the staff at Edgeley house.

"While out in the garden, he noticed the bench the staff sat on for break, etc was getting run down and asked to buy a new one."
