Residents in Whitchurch and beyond are being invited to talks on whether there is money locked in a child trust fund.

The talks – one in the Edward German Room at the town's Civic Centre and one at the Dodington Lodge Hotel – are designed to ask questions of two experts on youth funding.

Karina Lo Dico and Hilary Wilson, who have set up TwoZeroEighty.com to help young people be re-united with money they may have access to.

The Civic Centre sessions will be on Monday, October 8 between 12-3pm, taking on a question and answer format and the Dodington Lodge is 7-9pm and will be more structured.

The pair say statistics show that only 78.3 per cent of those eligible took up Child Trust Fund money and will explain how they can help.

Karina is a mum of five and Hilary a mum of three from Prees, and they know a thing or two about youth and family finance, having spent decades at leading retail banks and investment firms.

They have seen first hand how a basic financial know-how can change young people's outlook on money – and on life.
