Nearly 20 boats arrived in Whitchurch over the weekend to take part in the annual Boat Rally.

There was a nice mixture of boats with goods to sell, whether for momentous and gifts, or for refreshments – mainly if it was coffee-related.

There was a dog show on the Sunday meaning that boat owners' four-legged friends didn't miss out on the fun.

Visitors were treated to live music as well as a choice of stalls to visit, including a rope walk, crafts, brass ware, painted ware, local canal societies, and ice cream.

There was plenty to do for visitors young and old with eyes already on 2019.

The rally, as it is each year, was organised by Whitchurch Waterway Trust, which cares for the Whitchurch Canal Arm.

The Whitchurch Waterway Trust owns and manages the Whitchurch canal arm and seeks to extend it further towards the town centre.

The Whitchurch Arm of the Llangollen Canal was re-opened a number of years ago and provides casual 48 hour moorings for passing boaters as well as a number of long term and winter moorings.
