CROWDS turned out to enjoy a day of family-themed festivities at this year’s Ellesmere Carnival.
Councillor Brian Hartley, mayor of Ellesmere, joined in the parade which kicked off carnival day with two circuits of the town streets.
There were plenty of groups and individuals in colourful costumes, including the Cambria Band and Ellesmere Amdrams.
After the parade the carnival atmosphere continued at the Mere where there were various stalls, refreshments and live enterainment. Donations went towards future carnival and music events.
