Foodies in Whitchurch are being given a chance to enjoy a healthier option after a new business has opened in town.

The Salad Bowl, which is Green End, is open for business and offers people a chance to build their own salads as well as other hot food.

Sue Foster has opened the business with her husband Mark, who both come from the town, and they are looking forward to giving people the opportunity to try something different.

She said: "We're based in Green End in the old butchers' shop.

"We're a family business which is offering something that no-one else is doing in the town.

"We're keeping our supplies as local as possible and just want to add choice to our growing town. My husband and I are Whitchurch-born people and are very excited to be opening a new business in our town.

"We are called "The Salad Bowl" and we are primarily a self-service salad bar. You choose your size and you put what you want in your salad.

We are also going to be serving freshly baked, oven jacket potatoes and a selection of filled baguettes.

"We do have a small seating area too and will offer a few extras including hot drinks."

The Salad Bowl recently held a soft opening for friends and family and are now fully open for business.
