IT HAS proved to be another successful A-level and A/S-level results day at the area's schools.
Students and staff at Thomas Adams College, Wem, are celebrating, with 18 subject areas achieving a 100 per cent pass rate and more than 120 A* to B grades.
Liz Dakin, said: “We are absolutely thrilled, as these achievements are the result of a lot of hard work by both students and staff over the last year.
"I would like to congratulate the students and wish them every success as they move on to follow their ambitions."
Pupils at Sir John Talbot’s School in Whitchurch achieved a 100 percent pass rate across 17 subjects, and more students than ever are going on to university courses. The school said that the AS-level results were "outstanding".
Headteacher of Sir John Talbot’s School, David O’Toole added: “We would like to pass on our congratulations to our A Level students for their fantastic results."
All students at Maelor School in Penley achieved at least two A-levels or equivalent and four fifths achieved these at A*-C. The school also had more A* and A grades at A -level than ever before.
Headteacher Simon Ellis said: “I am overwhelmed with these outstanding results. Students and their families are to be congratulated for all their hard work and perseverance to achieve these superb grades.”
