Children in Whitchurch had to put their creative hats on as they took part in a Lego workshop at the library.

Taking place on the last weekend of July, children aged between five to 10-years-old had the chance to build ranches, design corrals and create their own Western film set as they enjoyed a hands-on wild west theme workshop.

Boys and girls from across Whitchurch were able to work together during their summer holidays and build the perfect wild west scene made of Lego.

Elsewhere in Whitchurch, Sainsbury’s officially welcomed their charity of the year to the store. Dogs Assistance in Disability were chosen as the shop’s charity of the year for 2018, which was chosen by customers in store and online using a voting system.

Dog AID train assistance dogs from pet dogs.

Mike McDonald, manager Dog A.I.D, said: “We’re delighted to be named the new Local Charity partner for Sainsbury’s Whitchurch. We’d like to thank everyone who voted for us, becoming the Local Charity partner will make a huge difference to us.”
