Following a successful year working with The Rotary Club of Whitchurch, Sainsbury’s is now pleased to reveal their new charity partner for 2018.

Over two weeks this June, customers at the Whitchurch branch were given the chance to vote in store and online for the store’s new charity partner, with Dog Assistance in Disability (AID) receiving the most votes.

Dog Assistance in Disability are a charity which trains assistance dogs from pet dogs.

Julie Hatton, store manager at Sainsbury’s Whitchurch, said: “We’re really excited to be working with Dog Assistance in Disability, supporting such a fantastic cause. Everyone at Sainsbury’s Whitchurch is looking forward to working together for a successful partnership.”

Mike McDonald, Manager Dog AID, added: “We’re delighted to be named the new local charity partner for Sainsbury’s Whitchurch. We’d like to thank everyone who voted for us, becoming the local charity partner will make a huge difference to us.”

The Local Charity scheme is now entering its tenth year, with a partnership launch weekend set to take place across Sainsbury’s stores from August 3 to 5.
