The Ellesmere Lunch Club for the over 60s re-opens this Friday, 13th July, at the Red Lion Coaching Inn, Church Street, Ellesmere. People are encouraged to bring friends or just come along and make new ones, while enjoying a delicious lunch.

The Lunch Club started back in February but had to close in May when a fire broke out in the pub's kitchen. The club will run on alternate Fridays throughout the year from 12 noon to 2pm.

Organiser, Anne Wignall, said: "We are delighted that the Red Lion are ready to host the club once again, and we are pleased to support them. Members can attend as little or often as they wish, but we just ask them to tell the Red Lion in advance so that we know how many to expect.

"We realise that it can sometimes be difficult to come along to a new activity by yourself, so we welcome relatives and friends who might like to accompany any new members until they feel they have settled in."

Margaret Lagoyianni of the Red Lion, said: "We look forward to welcoming back old members and meeting new ones. There is always a lovely friendly atmosphere here on Friday lunch-times."

For further information and to reserve your place, please contact Margaret at the Red Lion on 01691 622632 between 10am and 3pm, except Mondays. Although the club is aimed at the over 60s, anyone who would like to make new friends is welcome.
