AN AFTERNOON of drinks and fun at a country house raised a bumper sum for a cancer charity.
The Cholmondeley branch of North West Cancer Research held a Midsummer drinks party at Tushingham Hall which attracted 150 guests and raised £2,500.
Alastair Richards, CEO of North West Cancer Research, attended the event and told guests at the event - which was held at the hall's scenic gardens - about the work of the charity's centre in Liverpool.
Michelle Clark, of the Cholmondley branch, said: "We are very proud to have raised £2,500 which we will be sending to Liverpool and we would like to thank Mr and Mrs PV Moore-Dutton for opening up their beautiful home and gardens to us , and also to all the committee and barmen for such a wonderful evening to help this vital cause."
