One OF THE best known pubs in the area – the Cholmondeley Arms – is set to host Cheshire's biggest gin festival next weekend.

The pub and restaurant, which is in Wrenbury Road, will hold the event on Friday to Sunday and will be bringing together exceptional gin distillers and curators, live music and delicious food, with the event being billed as a true celebration of the 366 gins of Cholmondeley.

Tim Moody, general manager of the Cholmondeley Arms, admitted he is excited by the upcoming event.

“Gin continues to soar in popularity and we’re thoroughly excited to be offering our biggest collection of gins to date," he said.

"With a fantastic line up of live music and delicious food, this year’s Gin Fest is set to be our best yet and promises to be an unmissable event.”

The award-winning pub will be organising and hosting the festival for the fifth consecutive year, and will feature a number of different gin companies, including some big names such as Warner Edwards, Whitley Neil and Ophir, as well as some local ones such as Forest and the new Spirit of George gin from Mobberley.

They will be joined by some fantastic brand ambassadors throughout the festival who will be on hand for visitors to ask questions and try a sample or two. Warrington-based gin distiller Thomas Dakin will be joining on the Friday evening, and there will be a Brockman’s Masterclass on Sunday afternoon at 1pm.

There will also be live music from a range of fantastic acts. The Big Beat will be playing on the Friday, with Encore de Funk and Me and Deboe lined up for the Saturday. There really is no better way to enjoy the sunshine.

For those travelling from afar, camping will also be available on site for both the Friday and Saturday night, just call the pub to book a pitch.

Tim Bird and Mary McLaughlin, owners of the Cholmondeley Arms, re-opened the pub in 2011 with 40 gins and quickly established a reputation for stocking a fabulous collection of some of the best, rarest and most unusual gins in the country and are always looking to introduce more.
