People in Whitchurch and surrounding areas are being urged to join a special networking workshop at the town's Civic Centre on July 17.

Attendees at the session will be asked for their views and ideas to help shape an Economic Growth Strategy for Whitchurch.

This will be an opportunity for businesses and residents in Whitchurch to share their thoughts and ideas on a number of key areas, including the economy of Whitchurch; opportunities in the town to deliver economic growth; ow can growth be supported in the town and what are the key challenges?

The session is between 6-7 pm at the Civic Centre, with refreshments available from 5.30pm.

Following the launch of Shropshire’s Economic Growth Strategy 2017-2021 in October one of the key target actions identified was the development of a local growth strategy for each of our key market towns.

These documents will sit beneath the framework of the overarching strategy with the purpose of them being to set out Shropshire Council’s economic delivery plan within these key localities, as well as being a proposition type document which will encourage growth and attract new businesses and investment into the area.

The work will cover the seven key market towns, including Whitchurch, with Shrewsbury being covered by the Big Town Plan which is currently being consulted on and undertaken as a separate piece of work.

Oswestry, Shifnal & Cosford, Bridgnorth, Market Drayton and Ludlow are the other towns to be included in the strategy.
