A WHITCHURCH resident who lives by the The Brambles development off Chester Road has stated that building permission should never have been approved.

The resident, who wished to remain anonymous, lives on The Firs, which connects The Brambles to the main road, and has contacted The Herald previously about site traffic causing chaos and impacting on their quality of life.

He said: "Along with everyone else in the vicinity my quality of life has been adversely affected by the development of The Brambles.

"It was obvious to anyone with an ounce of common sense that the site was unsuitable for development but Shropshire Council seemed determined to ensure that it was developed even to the extent of allowing work to start on the site when the time granted for planning permission had long expired and even though the local council opposed the development.

"There were many objections to the planning application. The Firs was used on a daily basis for deliveries by heavy lorries and the vans and cars used by the workforce. The result was traffic chaos with the road blocked by vehicles, noise, mud, and dust.

"It is a disgrace the present situation has arisen and Shropshire Council should be ashamed at their callous disregard for the residents of The Brambles and The Firs. An official enquiry is called for and hopefully result in Shropshire Council in future not having such a cavalier attitude to housing developments."
